Officer Candidate Information:
Officer applications are due after State Career Development Conference and elections will be held in March or April. Turn in the officer application to Mrs. Jane Bruce or email it to her and schedule an officer interview. The following steps must be completed to be considered as an officer:

Officer applications are due after State Career Development Conference and elections will be held in March or April. Turn in the officer application to Mrs. Jane Bruce or email it to her and schedule an officer interview. The following steps must be completed to be considered as an officer:
- Read the Officer Election Information Presentation.
- Fill out the Officer Application Google Doc.
- Get three teacher recommendations on this form.
- Schedule an interview with Mrs. Bruce and Mr. Wood ASAP before the application is due. The sooner the better!
- Add your slide to the candidate slide presentation. Email Mrs. Bruce (jbruce@hoover.k12.al.us) for access to the presentation. See the Officer Election Information Presentation in step 1 for more information.

Student Membership
Membership in DECA is strongly encouraged if you are a member of a business course. This is the students' professional organization, and it gives students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, participate in community service activities, and compete in a variety of business and IT-related events.
